This is a just discontinued model from the Milgauss series with green Saphire crystal. A wristwatch that was groundbreaking in its resistance to disruptive magnetic waves and was designed to meet the needs of engineers and scientists. Introduced in 1956, this watch can withstand magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss - hence its name, borrowed from the French word for thousand, "mille". As the first wristwatch of its kind, the Milgauss has always stood for the combination of unique aesthetics with scientific tradition. The unique Rolex-developed green sapphire glass is scratch-resistant and lightfast, exclusive for the Milgauss model. The sapphire glass, dyed-through with a light green tone, almost seems to glow at the beveled edges - the result of a top-secret process perfected over years and which takes weeks to complete.
